Second XI fixtures revealed

Surrey will set out to defend the Second XI Championship title clinched with victory over Warwickshire in the final at Wormsley last summer

Surrey will begin their bid for a third successive Second XI Championship title with a clash against MCC Young Cricketers.

Victors over Warwickshire in last year’s final - a result which saw them retain their crown - Surrey will get their 2011 three-day campaign under way at the Kia Oval on April 18.

They open their Second XI Trophy - the one-day competition - challenge five days earlier, against reigning champions Essex at Chelmsford.

April 11 will see the first competitive action of the second XI season when MCC YC meet Gloucestershire in the Trophy at High Wycombe CC.

The Championship final is scheduled to start on September 6, while the summer will end with the Trophy final on September 12.
