Travis Birt marked his comeback from ankle surgery with a magnificent 167 for Derbyshire second XI.
The Tasmanian left-hander, who went under the knife at the end of the Australian season in March, proved his fitness and form by top-scoring against Nottinghamshire at Belper.
Nick Ferraby was the next highest scorer with 50, while Notts conceded 371 extras in a total of 371 all out.
