Durham have captured their first silverware of the season after lifting the Second XI Championship.
Chairman Clive Leach presented the side with the honour following their unbeaten campaign this summer.
Durham 2nd XI skipper Gordon Muchall was presented the trophy on behalf of the team after his side topped the table with an impressive run of eight wins and seven draws, scoring the highest batting points (42) in the league.
Muchall said: “It’s been a great season for the team, there have been some excellent individual performances which have really moved the team forward as a whole.
“The team has been really strong all season and we deserved to walk away with the trophy.”
Durham Chief Executive David Harker added: “The 2nd XI will produce the future stars of our first team and to see them achieving success in the Second Eleven Championship is particularly exciting.”
