MCC YC host Middlesex in opener

MCC Young Cricketers will host Middlesex in the opening fixture of the 2006 Second XI Championship.

The 2006 2nd XI fixtures have been confirmed, for both the Second XI Championship and the Second XI Trophy.

And the season will kick off on April 18 with MCC YC v Middlesex at Radlett CC. While there are three spring matches the following week too: Lancs v Notts at Old Trafford, Yorkshire v Durham at Stamford Bridge, and Sussex v MCC YC at Hove.

Champions in 2005, Kent, are not scheduled to play a Second XI Championship fixture until later in the summer, when they welcome Essex to Beckenham on July 26.

The Second XI Trophy group stages get going on June 19, with Hampshire playing MCC YC at the Rose Bowl. The semi-finals are scheduled for August 7, and the 2006 final for September 4.
