Rankin rocks for Derbyshire
Ireland World Cup hero Boyd Rankin claimed 2-21 for Derbyshire’s second XI as they recorded an innings-and-66-run victory over Nottinghamshire in two days at Belper.
Fellow seamer Wayne White produced a spell of 4-11 and finished with figures of 4-43 as Notts crumbled to 134 all out by mid-afternoon after they had begun their first innings at the start of day two
Greg Smith (2-11) and Abdur Rahman (2-12) also did damage for Derbyshire.
Derbyshire enforced the follow-on and this time around it was spin that did the damage as Jake Needham took 6-55 from 22 overs while Greg Smith claimed 2-45.
Derbyshire took the extra half-hour and managed to finish the job before the close as Nottinghamshire were dismissed for 171, the second time they had been bowled out in the day.
