LV County champions Sussex have signed South Australian seamer Ryan Harris for the 2008 season.
Harris, 28, has a British passport but needs clearance from the England and Wales Cricket Board before being registered.
“We are delighted to have finally got our man,” said Sussex manager Mark Robinson, of Harris, who is the third leading wicket-taker in this season’s Pura Cup.
“He’s an exciting prospect who has the potential to bowl quickly.
“Moreover, Ryan is an outstanding fielder and a more than handy lower-order batsman. He completes our squad and gives us the extra firepower we need for the defence of our title.”
