Sussex’s RDF Cricket Roadshow launches on Tuesday as the county plan to take the game to over 8,000 children this summer.
Junior members will have the chance to bowl and bat to members of the Sussex first-team squad, academy players and the women’s team as the summer festivities begin at Hove.
This year’s roadshow branches out into schools, clubs and will be a continual presence at the Sussex festivals throughout the summer.
The 2007 roadshow reached around 3,500 schoolchildren from Crawley to Bognor Regis, but the county are expecting that figure to rise dramatically this season.
Sussex chief executive Gus Mackay said: “The roadshow gets more exciting every year with the amount of children actively involved rising all the time.
“It’s crucial that we use the success of the club to enthuse children about Sussex CCC and cricket as a whole.”
The roadshow launches at the County Ground, Hove, between 12.15pm and 1.30pm.
