Two-time defending LV County Champions Sussex began their domestic campaign on Monday with the first of two back-to-back one-day matches against Glamorgan at Hove.
Chris Adams’ team recently returned from the Pro ARCH tournament in Dubai - won by Yorkshire - where Somerset, Lancashire and Essex also competed.
Sussex are bidding to become the first side to win three consecutive titles since Yorkshire in 1966-68.
Glamorgan, who finished bottom of Division Two last season, have been boosted by the completion of their new Cardiff home, the SWALEC Stadium.
On Tuesday Worcestershire are set to play at New Road for the first time since last June when they host Warwickshire in a one-day game.
New Road was hit by severe flooding last summer, forcing Worcestershire to find alternative venues for matches scheduled to be held there in the second half of the season.
Kent host Nottinghamshire in a three-day game at Canterbury on Wednesday.
Sussex are in action again on Thursday, when they start a two-day match against Gloucestershire at Hove. Essex play Middlesex at Chelmsford and Leicestershire face Worcestershire at Grace Road on the same days.
Friday sees Surrey begin their domestic season in a one-day game against Northants at the County Ground while Somerset face Cardiff UCCE at Taunton.
