Leicestershire will throw a party at Grace Road to celebrate their thrilling Twenty20 Cup triumph.

The Foxes clinched a second title in three years courtesy of a four-win win over Nottinghamshire Outlaws in the final at Trent Bridge on Saturday.

The Leicestershire players will parade the trophy after their NatWest Pro40 match against Worcestershire Royals on Monday evening.

The club are hoping the public, which packed Grace Road for the quarter-final triumph over Kent Spitfires three weeks ago, will turn out in force to salute the kings of Twenty20.

They are offering a ‘fiver after five’ ticket - £5 after 5 o’clock - to adults to encourage supporters to come to the ground on a work day to see the closing stages of the Worcestershire match and then join in the celebrations after the game.

“This presents us with an excellent opportunity to celebrate what has been another magnificent triumph and we intend to throw a big party to acclaim the achievement,” said Leicestershire chairman Neil Davidson.

“It had always been our intention to hold a celebration to honour another memorable Twenty20 season but we now have that trophy to parade which makes it even more of a special occasion for the club.

“It's a chance for those of our supporters who couldn't be at Trent Bridge to come along and show their appreciation to the players."

He added: "We know that this is a weekday and therefore there will probably be people who will want to come down after work.

"Therefore, we are offering a fiver after five to adults and under-18s to come in free for the closing stages of the NatWest Pro40 match and the celebrations which we plan to have after the game.

"We will be showing off the trophy and then the players will be attending a barbecue for supporters to come along to."

The Worcestershire match begins at 1.45pm, with prices set at £12 for adults and £6 for
under-18s.

But after 5.00pm the 'fiver after five' offer will kick in to give people the chance to come from work to the closing stages of the match. Under-18s will then gain free admission.
