Somerset’s Cameron White stormed to the top of the Sky Sports Sixes League after a deluge sixes from the latest round of Twenty20 Cup contests.

White has managed 23 maximums from 495 deliveries, hitting 19 during June to earn him the monthly prize.

He is now six clear at the top of the league table.

Former leader Justin Kemp drops into second place, having returned to South Africa with the chasing pack fast closing in.

Essex’s Ronnie Irani is now just one six behind Kemp’s tally of 17, with Surrey’s Ali Brown fourth on 15.

Michael Carberry is now sixth with four maximums in the past week, while Rob White’s four sixes in the televised game at Northampton have seen him move up to ninth.

The League, sponsored by the Daily Express, ranks the 10 batsmen that have hit the most sixes in Pro40, Twenty20 Cup and C&G matches throughout the summer.

In addition to a £2,000 award for the summer’s overall winner and the Sky Sports Sixes League trophy, there is an award each month for the player who has hit the most sixes in the previous four weeks.

Ian Blackwell won last year’s Sky Sports Sixes, with Mark Ealham the inaugural winner in 2004.
