Somerset have been forced to switch their Clydesdale Bank 40 game with Durham on Sunday 22 July from Bath to Taunton because the bad weather has meant the Recreation Ground pitch will not be ready.

The match was due to be the Somerset first team’s only at Bath this season.

Somerset chief executive Guy Lavender told Somerset’s website: “The club is very disappointed because we are keen to play cricket outside of the County Ground and hope the conditions are more favourable in future seasons for games to go ahead at Bath.”

Those who bought tickets will be contacted from today with the offer of seeing the match at Taunton or a full refund.
