Hughes set for Worcestershire bow
Phil Hughes is set to make his first appearance for Worcestershire when they welcome Group A rivals Middlesex to New Road in the Clydesdale Bank 40.
Australian left-hander Hughes, who enjoyed a brief spell at Middlesex in 2009, has arrived in England to begin his stint as Worcestershire’s overseas player, having been unavailable for the opening eight weeks of the campaign. He replaces fellow Australian Michael Klinger.
Middlesex will be once again boosted by the availability of England stars Steven Finn and Eoin Morgan.
Dimitri Mascarenhas will likely take the field for Hampshire against Group B basement side Somerset after returning from Indian Premier League duty.
The all-rounder has missed the entire campaign thus far having represented Kings XI Punjab, with his return likely to provide a boost for the unbeaten Royals.
Durham are once again without Dale Benkenstein, who has a shoulder injury, for the visit of Scotland, but England seamer Graham Onions returns from international duty.
The Saltires, meanwhile, have named an unchanged squad to that which was chosen for the 89-run defeat to Hampshire.
In Group C, Northamptonshire face Warwickshire while Yorkshire, boosted by the return of fit-again Richard Pyrah, will tackle the Unicorns.
