Another washout at Cheltenham
The Clydesdale Bank 40 game between Gloucestershire and Essex at Cheltenham has been abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain.
The Gladiators remained third in Group A, a point behind second-placed Middlesex whose fixture with Leicestershire at Uxbridge was also called off. The Eagles stayed two points worse off than the second-from-bottom Foxes.
Before the abandonment Gloucestershire this morning announced that no further tickets would be available for the match and corporate hospitality had been cancelled due to the impact of the weather.
Rain, which yesterday forced an LV= County Championship washout between the sides for a second straight day, left the College Ground soaked.
Umpires Tim Robinson and Rob Bailey inspected around 9am, 11am and midday, after which they decided no action was possible in the contest due to begin at 1:45pm.
