Rain rules in Rotterdam
The Netherlands got off the mark in the Yorkshire Bank 40 as their game with Sussex Sharks at Schiedam, Rotterdam, was abandoned due to rain.
Put into bat, the hosts reached 28 for two from 10.2 overs before the players were forced off and were unable to return. The result leaves Sussex still third in Group A and keeps the Dutch, who lost heavily to Kent Spitfires in their other YB40 contest, sixth out of seven.
Sussex - who have won, lost and suffered an abandonment in their first three YB40 fixtures - gave a competitive first-team debut to England Under-19 international Harry Finch while fellow seamers James Anyon and Chris Jordan were rested.
Having made the first over of the match a maiden, Lewis Hatchett bowled Stephan Myburgh for two and had Wesley Barresi caught at square-leg for four in his next two overs.
Opening batsman Dom Michael, who was unbeaten on 16 alongside Tom Cooper on four, hit Andrew Miller for a six before Finch was introduced but the elements denied the Sussex youngster a second over. Hatchett took 2-11 from his five.
The Netherlands are due to face bottom side Northants Steelbacks at the same venue tomorrow.
