Yorkshire let Dawson go
Former England off-spinner Richard Dawson has been released by Yorkshire.
The 26-year-old off-spinner, who played seven Tests for England, has spent large parts of the summer in the second XI.
Yorkshire chief executive Stewart Regan revealed the club could not afford to keep him on a capped player’s salary and, although Dawson was upset by the decision, he accepted it.
The news came on the day that captain Craig White stood down after three years in charge, having helped Yorkshire avoid relegation to the Second Division of the Liverpool Victoria County Championship by a soliatary point.
