Prior withdrawn through illness
England wicketkeeper Matt Prior has been ruled out of the remainder of the ICC Champions Trophy due to illness.
Prior, 27, was not deemed fit enough to face Australia in the semi-final at Centurion today and has been replaced in the official 15-man squad by Steven Davies.
Prior succumbed to a virus during the group stage of the tournament and missed England’s matches with South Africa and New Zealand, with Eoin Morgan deputising behind the stumps.
But England coach Andy Flower has expressed his intent to play a specialist keeper in this knockout encounter, so Davies is set to make his ODI debut.
