Davies readied for Champions Trophy
Steven Davies on duty for England in the Twenty20 international against West Indies over the winter
England have made provision for wicketkeeper Steven Davies to fly out to South Africa for the ICC Champions Trophy, should Matt Prior fail to recover from his illness.
Prior, 27, was taken ill overnight and did not take part in the match against South Africa at Centurion. Eoin Morgan is set to deputise with the gloves.
Davies, 23, who leaves Worcestershire for Surrey in the close-season, has played a solitary Twenty20 international against West Indies in Port of Spain.
