England players hit with fine
England have fined several players for a breach of team discipline after their opening World Cup encounter.
Members of the squad admitted to breaking team rules at a meeting held in the wake of the six-wicket defeat by New Zealand.
An ECB statement read: “The England team management announced that a number of England players had been fined by head coach Duncan Fletcher after admitting to a breach of team discipline last night.
“The decision followed a team meeting at noon today, which was attended by all players and management.”
England meet Canada in their second Group C encounter in St Lucia on Sunday, with victory essential if they are to have any chance of qualifying for the Super Eight stage.
