TwelfthMan: My account
The ECB has announced that Allan Donald’s consultancy role in assisting England’s fast-bowling programme has been extended until the end of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in South Africa in September this year.
Donald was due to finish his initial five-week tenure with England at the end of the current NatWest Series and will now remain working with Kevin Shine, the ECB fast-bowling coach, for the npower Test series and the NatWest Series against India as well as the inaugural ICC Twenty20 tournament in South Africa.
The former South Africa fast bowler will continue to work in a consultancy role with England’s fast bowlers and with other elite England-qualified seam bowlers in conjunction with Shine and England head coach Peter Moores.
Donald said: “I’ve greatly enjoyed my time working with the England fast bowlers and am delighted to be staying on in the role until September.
“We have an exciting crop of bowlers in the England ranks and I’m looking forward to continue working with them for the remainder of the summer and the first tour of the winter.
“Both Kevin Shine and Peter Moores have provided excellent guidance in working with the ECB fast-bowling programme and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue my association in a consultancy capacity.”
