England Under-19s took further pride from their tour of Bangladesh with a second successive victory in the one-day series.
The tourists chased down 225 with eight balls to spare in Dhaka to the reduce the scoreline to 4-2 with one match to play at the same venue on Wednesday.
Man of the match Ateeq Javid’s 63 was pivotal in guiding England to their target after openers Joe Root and Michael Bates made 48 and 35 respectively.
Seamer Calum Haggett earlier claimed 3-21 from seven overs to leave Bangladesh Under-19s nine down after 50 overs. Opener Anamul Haque top-scored with 74 while Sabbir Rahman added 53.
Paul Best continued to lead England after taking over from Azeem Rafiq in the previous match, a five-wicket victory in Fatullah.
Best’s change bowlers rewarded his decision to field first, off-spinner Rafiq striking twice in the 22nd over to reduce Bangladesh to 66 for four.
Anamul and Sabbir combined to add 90 but Haggett removed both and two run outs affected by Ben Stokes, plus a wicket for the seamer, ensured a modest total.
Root and Bates added 52 together and, although wickets fell around him, Javid remained calm - striking six fours and a maximum.
Best’s cameo 20 from 16 deliveries saw his side home with three wickets in hand.
Javid said: “I was very disappointed to get out so close to the finish, but pleased with another good team performance from all the players.”
