Sam Northeast ensured England gave no quarter as they continued to dominate their series with Bangladesh
England’s young batsmen plundered a listless Bangladesh attack on the first day of the second Under-19 Test at Derby.
Sam Northeast was the mainstay of England’s 338 for seven with 107, taking the game away from the Tigers in a 149-run stand for the third wicket with David Willey of Northamptonshire, who made 65.
Northeast, the Kent opening batsman, hit 15 fours from 178 balls before falling to Mahmudul Hasan, the most successful of the touring bowlers with 2-41.
Ben Stokes added 72 before he too was caught off Mahmudul.
Northeast's inclusion was one of four changes to the England side that won the first Test at Scarborough last week to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
