Dan Redfern enhanced his reputation with the bat as the tour match between England Under-19s and Bangladesh A ended in a draw.
There was little doubt over the outcome of the game at Loughborough after the first day and a large chunk of the second were washed out by rain.
But Redfern hit an unbeaten 43 on the final day to lead England to 142 for six in reply to the tourists’ 195 for seven declared.
He helped cut short a mid-innings collapse, sharing a stand of 55 with Ben Brown after England slipped to 87 for five.
Brown contributed 32 off 45 deliveries, opener James Taylor having hit 26 and Alex Hales 24 at almost a run a ball.
Redfern struck seven fours in his 93-ball innings, and was in situ with Liam Dawson when stumps were drawn after 46 overs of England’s first innings.
Earlier, Ben Sanderson claimed two wickets to finish with figures of 4-52 off 17 overs as Bangladesh A added 80 runs to their overnight total of 115 for four.
Imrul Kayes top-scored for Bangladesh A with 62, while Naeem Islam and Dhiman Ghosh made 40 and 29 respectively.
England host New Zealand in two Tests and five one-day internationals starting later this month.
