TwelfthMan: My account
A third-wicket partnership of 64 between Josh Cobb and Dan Redfern could not prevent England Under-19s losing their warm-up match against South Africa Under-17s.
The home side triumphed by seven wickets in Cape Town, dismissing England for 201 and reaching their target with 4.2 overs to spare.
Cobb made 41 off just 43 balls after the early loss of Scott Borthwick and Adam Wheater, South Africa having won the toss and chosen to bowl.
Cobb’s innings contained five fours and two sixes, while Redfern contributed four fours and one six in his 43, before becoming the sixth man out with the score on 125.
A partnership of 28 for the ninth wicket between Azeem Rafiq (19) and Chris Wood (15) helped England get past the 200 mark.
South Africa's opening batsman Josh Richards got the reply off to an excellent start, making 62 before he fell to a catch by Cobb off Redfern.
But Colin Ackerman ensured South Africa cruised home, his unbeaten 84 coming off just 85 delieveries.
