Hamilton-Brown leads U19s
The England and Wales Cricket Board have announced a 12-man England Under 19 squad to play Pakistan Under-19 in two Test matches. The squad for the five-match Under-19 ODI Series will be confirmed at a later date.
Rory Hamilton–Brown has been appointed as captain for both the Test and ODI Series to be played between August 4-23.
Chairman of selectors David Graveney said: "The selectors have taken into account players who are producing performances in county first elevens and others playing consistently in second XI cricket and still eligible for the Under-19 World Cup next February.
"Careful consideration was given to whether Adil Rashid should be included in the squad. It has been concluded that players in Adil's situation of having progressed to the next stage by representing the England Lions should not be pulled out of county first team cricket to play for England U19."
The first U19 Test had been scheduled to be played at New Road, Worcester, 4-7 August, but due to the flooding of the ground will now be moved to another venue. The ECB will confirm the venue for the first Test in due course and the second Test will be played at Derby from 10-13 August.
