Jack Manuel has been rewarded for his impressive form for England Under-17s with a call-up to the Under-19 Test squad to face New Zealand.
The Worcestershire batsman hit a century for the U17s against the same opposition in last week’s tour match at Sleaford, having also reached three figures during the U17 Regional Festival at Loughborough earlier this month.
Manuel was called up as cover for Alex Wakely, who is unlikely to feature in the opening Test at Taunton due to a hand injury.
Ben Sanderson’s broken finger will keep him out, with Surrey's Stuart Meaker drafted in in his place.
The first Test gets under way tomorrow, while the second Test of the two-match series takes place at New Road from August 1-4.
