Rafiq joins Under-19 tour

Azeem Rafiq, now a British citizen, will join the U19s on the tour of South Africa

The England and Wales Cricket Board today announced that, having successfully applied for British citizenship, Yorkshire’s Azeem Rafiq has been added to the England Under-19 squad to tour South Africa in January/February 2009.

John Abrahams, England U19 manager, said: “Azeem is a talented cricketer who has already shown great potential.

“We're delighted he’s now eligible to join the England Under-19 squad and believe the experience of touring in South Africa will help him continue his development as a cricketer.”
