Under-18 squad unveiled
The following players have been selected, subject to county 1st XI selection, for the Elite Player Development Under-18 squad to play a series of one-day matches against Scotland Development XI at Clydesdale Cricket Club, Glasgow next month.
This is part of the ongoing selection and preparation for the Under-19 World Cup in February 2010.
At this stage inclusion or exclusion does not secure a place in the team nor indicate non-involvement in the future.
There will be further opportunities for players during the season, as well as observing them during county matches and communicating with their coaches.
Those players who have been a part of the process, but not selected, have also been informed.

The first 2 games at Titwood, in Glasgow, home of Clydesdale CC, are against The Scottish Lions, the reserve X1 (who play 6 games in 3 day 2ndX1 County Championship). The first has just ended with Joss Butler of Somerset 103* (virtually single handed) ensuring Eng u18 reached 193 D/L target in 37 overs, with 2 to spare. The 6 wickets for Lions were Moneeb Iqbal (leg spinner x2); Ross Lyons (left arm x1); Stewart Chalmers (m/f x1); Mat Parker (m/f x1) + 1 run out. Frequent showers interrupted proceedings after Scot lions scored 222 from 50 overs, after a bad start: Stewart Chalmers 63*; Gregor Maiden 40; Mat Parker 44.
