Ashes 2006-07 flashback
The history of the Ashes is littered with English struggles on Australian soil, but the nadir surely came in 2006-07 when the tourists - under the captaincy of Andrew Flintoff - suffered a 5-0 whitewash.
Ricky Ponting and company emulated Warwick Armstrong's 1920-21 side by winning every Test, in the process avenging their defeat in England in 2005.
And how. Victories came by crushing margins in four of the five Tests, although England's six-wicket defeat at Adelaide - from a seemingly impregnable position - perhaps did most to damage spirits.
Even the hardiest England fans will find the following ecb.co.uk reports tough reading:
1st Test, Brisbane - Australia won by 277 runs
2nd Test, Adelaide - Australia won by six wickets
3rd Test, Perth - Australia won by 206 runs
4th Test, Melbourne - Australia won by an innings and 99 runs
5th Test, Sydney - Australia won by 10 wickets
