There have been calls for change in Australian cricket following their Ashes defeat and two reviews have now been approved

The board of Cricket Australia have approved reviews of both the governance of the game in the country and the performance of the national team following the 3-1 Ashes defeat at the hands of England.

The independent reviews will be assisted by corporate governance experts Colin Carter and David Crawford.

“The reviews will get underway once the terms of reference, scope and timelines have been finalised by the independent consultants to be engaged by the board," Cricket Australia chairman Jack Clarke said.

“We intend to have the reviews completed by our Annual General Meeting in October. We will confirm the names of review participants once the scoping has been agreed and before they start discussions with the wide range of stakeholders involved in the respective issues.

“However, we can confirm that experienced corporate governance experts Colin Carter and David Crawford are assisting with the governance review.”

The Australia selectors came under fire before, during and after the recent Test series, which saw England emerge victorious Down Under for the first time in 24 years, with the omission of Nathan Hauritz and the inclusion of Xavier Doherty high on the list of talking points.
