Ryan Harris was the pick of the Australia attack in Adelaide and the 31-year-old has been cleared to feature in the third Test

Australia paceman Ryan Harris has been declared fit for the third Ashes Test against England, which begins in Perth on December 16.

The 31-year-old New South Wales seamer was rated doubtful for the game after appearing to injure his shoulder while bowling in the second Test, in which England recorded a crushing innings-and-71-run victory.

But the Australia camp announced today a scan had cleared the quick of any serious damage and stated he was able to bowl unrestricted.

Harris has had injury concerns in the past, and the Adelaide Test was his first in nine months after he suffered a knee problem in a one-day international against England in July.

Harris was the pick of the home side’s bowlers last week, with figures of 2-84 from his 29 overs in England's only innings, and his availability is sure to be a boost for a beleaguered Australia side already missing opener Simon Katich with an Achilles tendon injury.
