Tendulkar sits out first three ODIs
Sachin Tendulkar has been rested for the first three one-day internationals of the seven-match series against England which begins on November 14 in Rajkot.
The 35-year-old, who has played a prominent role in the Border-Gavaskar Test series against Australia, will be available for the fourth ODI in Bangalore on November 23.
Tendulkar has not played any limited overs internationals since India’s tour of Australia earlier this year through a combination of injury and rest.
Fellow batsman Murali Vijay, who made his Test debut today, could make his one-day bow this month having been named in the squad.
Vijay, who was India A's leading scorer in a recent two-Test series against New Zealand A, was preferred to Subramaniam Badrinath.
The other changes to the previous squad are Virender Sehwag, who missed the ODIs in Sri Lanka because of an ankle injury, and Ishant Sharma, who was rested from the series in Sri Lanka.
India one-day squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt & wkt), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma, Pragyan Ojha, RP Singh, Virat Kohli, Murali Vijay.
