Pietersen and Swann on the up
Kevin Pietersen and Graeme Swann have moved into the top 10 of the International Cricket Council rankings after their brilliant displays in England’s 10-wicket win over India at Mumbai.
Man of the match Pietersen’s 186 has seen him rise six spots to seventh in the batting table, one behind Alastair Cook who is up a place on the back of his 122.
Swann, who took eight wickets, has also risen by six places to leave him sixth in the bowling charts. James Anderson, who was not helped by conditions at the Wankhede Stadium, is down four to 10th. Monty Panesar, who returned a Test-best 11 wickets, is up nine to 29th.
