Tredwell covers for Swann and Panesar
James Tredwell is to link up with England’s squad ahead of the third Test with India at Kolkata next week as cover for fellow spinners Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar.
The Kent off-break bowler was yesterday named in England’s Twenty20 and one-day international squads, also against India next month and in January.

Kent's James Tredwell will join England in Kolkata on Saturday as cover for fellow spinners Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar
The tourists have called him up as an understudy to Swann and Panesar in the middle of a four-match series currently standing at 1-1 following their famous victory at Mumbai.
England seem sure to play two spinners in the final two Tests, after Panesar and Swann combined to take 19 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium - and Tredwell, recently named his county’s new captain, is therefore set to fly to India early.
“Tredwell has performed really well for us,” said England team director Andy Flower. “He can make a real impact as a spin bowler. He is arriving in Kolkata on December 1 as cover.
“We have some spinners with the Performance Programme. But Tredwell is a senior spinner and will stay with us for the Tests.”
The 30-year-old has played just one Test - during March 2010 against Bangladesh in Dhaka where he took six wickets.
