England named the following squad for the three-match Test series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates:

 Ravi Bopara (Essex) |  Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire) |  Steven Davies (wicketkeeper, Surrey) |  Steven Finn (Middlesex) |
 Eoin Morgan (Middlesex) |  Graham Onions* (Durham) |  Monty Panesar (Sussex) |  Kevin Pietersen (Surrey) |
 Matt Prior (wicketkeeper, Sussex) |  Graeme Swann (Nottinghamshire) |  Jonathan Trott (Warwickshire) |
*Tim Bresnan was ruled out of the Test series on January 9 having failed to recover from an elbow injury and replaced by Onions, already with the tour party as cover.
**Chris Tremlett was ruled out of the Test series on January 25 due to a back injury.
