Broad doubtful for second Test
Stuart Broad is a doubt for England’s second Test with Sri Lanka, which starts on Tuesday.
Broad appeared uncomfortable during his unbeaten innings of five today as the tourists suffered a 75-run defeat at Galle in the first game.
The ECB can confirm he has sustained an injury in his right calf and, with just five days before the next match in Colombo, faces a fight to be fit.
England captain Andrew Strauss said: “There’s no real news at this stage. It’s a tight calf and, as is always the case, we are going to have to evaluate it over the next couple of days.”
Broad overcame a sprained left ankle, sustained when he tripped over a boundary rope, to play in the first Test of two.
