Agarkar out for India
India fast bowler Ajit Agarkar will miss the remaining matches of the ICC Champions Trophy after fracturing his thumb.
The Mumbai paceman was attempting to stop a return shot off his own bowling in the match against the West Indies in Ahmedabad on Thursday when he cracked the digit.
The 28-year-old will now miss the clash with Australia on Sunday and is not expected to be fit for the forthcoming tour to South Africa.
His place will be taken by Shanthakumaran Sreesanth subject to ICC approval.
Board of Control for Cricket in India media manager Rajan Nair told rediff.com: “We have requested the ICC for a replacement for Agarkar.
“If the replacement is approved, his place in the squad will be taken by S Sreesanth in Mohali.”
