Trott climbs into ODI top five
England batsman Jonathan Trott has moved up four places to a career-high fifth in the International Cricket Council's one-day international batting rankings on the back of his performances at the World Cup.
Trott was the tournament’s fourth-highest run-scorer with 422 in seven innings. He continued his outstanding ODI form this winter, which earlier saw him make two centuries in the Commonwealth Bank Series against Australia.
Andrew Strauss has dropped two places to 20th in a batting list still topped by South Africa's Hashim Amla.
New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori leads the bowling list in which Graeme Swann drops a place to third. Stuart Broad, who missed over half of England’s campaign through injury, is down two places to joint 13th.
After reaching the quarter-finals of the World Cup, England are fifth in the team rankings.
