Bishoo added to Windies squad
West Indies have been given permission to add Guyana leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo to their World Cup squad in place of the injured Dwayne Bravo.
The move was rubber-stamped by the International Cricket Council today after Windies vice-captain and key all-rounder Bravo was ruled out of the competition with a left knee injury.
Any injury-based replacement at the World Cup is subject to the final approval of the event’s technical committee.
Bishoo, 25, has not been capped by West Indies. He has played 21 first-class matches and 13 domestic Twenty20 games and also featured for West Indies A last year.
He is the third replacement player to join the squad as a result of injury. Kirk Edwards and Devon Thomas had already been called up in place of Adrian Barath and Carlton Baugh, who were ruled out of the tournament because of hamstring problems.
