Australia ease to semis
Australia cruised through to the semi-finals of the Women’s World Twenty20 by virtue of a resounding 25-run Duckworth/Lewis victory over Pakistan.
The defending champions were indebted to solid contributions from their top four in posting 146 for five after opting to bat.
Alyssa Healy struck 36, Meg Lanning 16, Jess Cameron 42 and Lisa Sthalekar 29; Sadia Yousuf was the pick of the bowlers with 2-39.
Ellyse Perry quickly undermined Pakistan in reply, having Sana Mir and Nahida Khan caught behind either side of Julie Hunter removing Qanita Jalil.
Pakistan had progressed to 38 for three when rain decisively came after nine overs. Play was eventually abandoned with Pakistan well short of the required mark.
