England back at T20 summit
England will begin their World Twenty20 defence as the number-one ranked team in the shortest format.
Yesterday’s 28-run defeat of South Africa at Edgbaston saw Stuart Broad’s side reclaim top spot in the International Cricket Council rankings from the Proteas.
World T20 hosts Sri Lanka lie third in the standings, ahead of West Indies and New Zealand.
Black Caps wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum is now ranked as the number one batsman in international Twenty20, while England’s Graeme Swann is second to Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal in the bowling list.
