Johnson Charles top-scored for West Indies with 30 as Nuwan Kulasekara returned figures of 2-35 for the hosts.
Across town at the Moors Sports Club Ground, Ireland enjoyed a comfortable victory over Zimbabwe as they began their World Twenty20 preparations.
Having made huge strides in one-day cricket over recent years, all eyes are on Ireland to see what sort of impression they will make in Sri Lanka. They gave a nod towards it being a good one with a 54-run victory.
The Irish batted first after being put in and made 181 for five, before restricting Zimbabwe to 127 for eight in response.
Niall O'Brien starred with the bat, making 62 from 49 balls, while Kevin O'Brien and Ed Joyce, who made 30 not out and 29 respectively, offered ample support.
