Riazuddin to the fore for U19s
Hamza Riazuddin made up for time lost to rain by starring with bat and ball as England Under-19 continued to hold the upper hand in the second youth Test against Bangladesh.
On day two of four at Derby, Riazuddin (38) and Chris Wood (30) dragged England’s innings out to 392. Off-spinner Mahmudul Hasan claimed 3-47 for Bangladesh.
The Hampshire all-rounder then bounded in to claim 2-33 from 14 overs, as the Tigers responded with 209 for five in their first innings by the close.
The tourists kept their head above water with knocks of 45 by Saikat Ali and Amanul Haque, the latter of whom remained not out overnight.
