Rain rules at Arundel
England Under-19s’ one-day series against their Sri Lanka counterparts remains locked at 1-1 after no result was possible at Arundel in the third match.
Following the tourists’ five-wicket victory at the same venue yesterday, only 11.4 overs were played today in a match that had been reduced to 31 per side.
England captain Paul Best inserted Sri Lanka, who had reached 58 for one when umpires Neil Bainton and Martin Bodenham abandoned play.
Seamer Lewis Gregory made the only breakthrough when he had Ramith Rambukwella caught in the fourth over, before opener Rumesh Buddika and Bhanuka Rajapaksa finished unbeaten on 29 and 24 respectively.
The teams now head to Canterbury for the last two games of the five-match series on Thursday and Friday.
