De Kock finishes World Cup on a high
Quinton de Kock struck a half-century to help South Africa cruise past New Zealand in the ICC Under-19s World Cup third-place play-off.
After opting to bat, the Black Caps were undermined from the off as they slipped to six for two, Jan Frylinck doing the early damage.
Calvin Savage chipped in with three wickets, after which leg-spinner David Rhoda saw off the tail with 4-26 to dismiss New Zealand for just 90.
De Kock then enhanced his burgeoning reputation with a fluent 50 from the top of the order to set the Proteas on their way.
Their victory was sealed in just the 15th over, Theunis de Bruyn’s four completing an eight-wicket win.
