Tredwell and Dernbach earn increment contracts
Kent off-spinner James Tredwell and Surrey pace bowler Jade Dernbach have been awarded England increment contracts for 2012-13.
Tredwell qualifies for the award by virtue of having played two T20s and five ODIs against India recently as well as three T20s against New Zealand.
Dernbachfeatured once for England during the ICC World T20 in Sri Lanka. He also appeared in two T20s and four ODIs on the tour of India, and three T20s against New Zealand in the current contract period.
Non-contracted players can earn an England increment contract via a points system. Five points are awarded for a Test appearance and two for a T20 or ODI appearance, with an increment contract being awarded automatically once the player reaches 20 points during the 12-month contract period.
ECB National Selector Geoff Miller said: “Congratulations to both James and Jade. These contracts reflect the contributions both players have made in the limited-overs formats for England over the course of the winter.”
