Danny Briggs believes England Lions "are not far away from a big performance" as they prepare for tomorrow's fourth ODI against Bangladesh A

Danny Briggs is confident England Lions can come from behind to record victory over Bangladesh A in their ongoing one-day series.

The tourists trail 2-1 ahead of tomorrow’s fourth match of five in Sylhet, having twice been well beaten either side of a comfortable six-wicket victory in the second ODI at Chittagong.

James Taylor’s men failed to pass 150 in each of their defeats, but Briggs expects an improved showing, with bat and ball, in the remaining two fixtures.

Speaking exclusively to ecb.co.uk, the Hampshire spinner said: “It’s all on the day and if we perform in the next two games I’m sure we’ll come away with wins.

“The games we have lost, we haven’t batted very well. Obviously we are aware of that as a team and we know, with the talent that we have got, that we can beat them in the last two games and come away with a series win.

“They are fairly harsh conditions and a lot different to home, but that’s the challenge we face. The more we learn, the better we will get and now is the time to put performances together and get another win on the board.

“Everyone is really confident and looking forward to the match tomorrow. Hopefully we can put all three aspects together. This is the key time to do it.”

The Lions may have struggled for consistency thus far, but Briggs has performed strongly on an individual level, with seven wickets at an average of 16 in the first three matches.

Having frequently impressed on his previous tours with the Lions or England Performance Programme, the 20-year-old slow left-armer is understandably pleased to be making a positive impact once again.

“I’ve been fairly pleased by the first three games, and now is the time to improve, if I can, in the last two and contribute to the team. Everyone has really got to contribute to these last two games.

“It has been nice to bowl on these wickets, and trying to adapt and learn. The Lions tours and EPP tours so far have been really good for me. I’ve got a lot out of them, learning-wise and performance-wise.

“It’s always nice to be in the wickets, but on this sort of tour it’s all about the team and the team performing well, so that’s the main aim in the next two games.

“The bowlers are thinking a lot about how we are going to bowl to the Bangladeshi batsmen, and our batsmen are working really hard as a unit. I don’t think we can do any more to be honest. We are all working our socks off and we are not far away from a big performance.”
