Lions three points clear at summit
England Lions hold a three-point lead going into the final round of WICB regional four-day championship matches after previous leaders Jamaica drew with Trinidad & Tobago and Combined Campuses & Colleges beat Guyana.
The Lions, who yesterday defeated Windward Islands by 258 runs to go top, have 48 points while Jamaica and CC&C have 45. All eight teams in the competition have played six games.
Victory for James Hildreth’s side against Jamaica at Sabina Park - the game starts on Thursday - will guarantee top spot. However, the Lions cannot win the competition outright as only the regional sides qualify for the semi-finals and final, which clashes with the start of the county season.
CC&C, who host Barbados from Friday, completed a thrilling eight-run win over Guyana in Bridgetown today when T&T finished 56 short of a 304-run target in Kingston.
