EPP keep it tight
The England Performance Programme’s bowlers were economical in limiting a DY Patil Academy XI to 219 for seven on an attritional day one of three at Mumbai.
The hosts, beaten in the first game between the sides by an innings and 193 runs last week, opted to bat first and offered stubborn resistance in the EPP’s second match of their tour.
Opening batsman Shrideep Mangela made 55 before number four and captain Vinit Indulkar top-scored with 69 not out.
James Harris and Ben Stokes both struck twice in two balls while there was one wicket for each of Jade Dernbach, Chris Wright and Azeem Rafiq.
