Harris suffers injury setback

James Harris suffered the reoccurrence of a groin injury while training with the England Performance Programme in Potchefstroom
Glamorgan seamer James Harris has sustained a reoccurrence of a groin injury while training with the England Performance Programme in Potchefstroom, South Africa, ruling him out of the England Lions squad announced today to tour Bangladesh in January.
After extensive treatment and assessment by the EPP support staff, in conjunction with Glamorgan’s medical team, it was felt that it was not in the 21-year-old’s best interest to be included in the tour party.
Glamorgan managing director of cricket Colin Metson said: “We are very disappointed for James to miss out on a tour place with the England Lions, especially after having enjoyed another successful summer with Glamorgan, as well as a good tour last winter with the England Lions in the Caribbean.
“It is important that James now works with the Glamorgan and England medical staff to get himself fit for the start of the 2012 season.”
