West Indies all-rounder Marlon Samuels will have his suspect bowling action analysed in Loughborough next week.

The off-spinner’s quicker ball was reported by umpires Simon Taufel and Aleem Dar following the third Test against South Africa in Durban last month.

Dr Mark King, a member of the International Cricket Council panel of human movement, will carry out a biomechanical assessment of Samuels’ action at the National Cricket Performance Centre next Monday.

If King’s report, which must be sent to the ICC within 14 days, deems Samuels’ action illegal, he will be suspended from bowling in international cricket until he proves he has corrected it.

If King deems only Samuels' quicker ball is illegal, the player is allowed to continue bowling but without using that delivery.
